What Is God?
I welcome any and all to describe what you mean by the word "god" when you utter it in a sentence. This goes for atheists and theists alike. If there have been multiple definitions in your life, recite each and every one, and why they changed for you. Please be clear and concise with the terms you use to avoid confusion.

When I was a christian the word god didn't have a very clear meaning. God was basically whatever made me feel better at the time.
Now, I don't really use the word god all that much I think. When criticizing religion, I am generally referring to the god of the religious, as undefined as that may be.
Someone told me god was what you couldn't know. It was mystery and always beyond the bounds of understanding.
To me, it's an empty word, just as 'spirit', 'soul', 'heaven' or any other magical idea is. I can, just as others do, infuse it with meaning according to what I think 'god' is, but the word is as meaningless to me as the Super Squid that lives in my shower. When I use the word 'god' in conversation, I do so after understanding the person I am speaking with and their own beliefs. I don't use the word god when I'm alone, other than to refer to the evil demon that resides in the minds of millions of morally and intellectually stunted individuals.
